Passion for interior design and functionality has always been in Michala’s bones. From a young age, Michala remembers repeatedly rearranging her childhood bedroom, decorating her bookshelves and helping her friends clean and optimize their spaces. While attending 5 years of boarding school, Michala had to transfer rooms each quarter, providing an opportunity to change room designs and decor each time. This design draw paired with growing up around construction job sites and a small budget in her 20’s fostered a DIY spirit she has yet to contain.

Michala hails from Southern California, though has spent nearly two decades in the Midwest and on the East Coast. She describes her work as beautifully functional, never sparing safety. She loves traditional wooden features paired with modern efficiency, and routinely thinks “I could make that” when looking at luxury websites and goods.

Based in Washington, D.C., Michala is a city lover through and through, with a specific design niche in making small city spaces both functional and beautiful.
